Core Values
The core values of Freedom Rising are the foundation of its mission to combat human trafficking and exploitation. These values guide every decision and action taken by the organization:
-Compassion:
At the heart of Freedom Rising is a deep empathy for victims of trafficking and exploitation. We are committed to providing love, care, and support to those who have been marginalized, ensuring they feel valued and respected.
-Collaboration:
We believe that the fight against human trafficking requires strong partnerships across faiths, cultures, and communities. Freedom Rising works inclusively with local and international partners, recognizing that our impact is greater when we unite for a common cause.
-Integrity:
Transparency, honesty, and ethical practices are central to everything we do. Freedom Rising is dedicated to ensuring that all actions and initiatives are accountable to the communities we serve, our supporters, and partners.
-Empowerment:
We aim to not only rescue victims but also equip them with the skills, education, and resources they need to live independently and with dignity. Our programs focus on breaking the cycle of exploitation by giving individuals the tools to create lasting change in their lives.
-Respect for Diversity:
Freedom Rising upholds the belief that all people, background, or social status, deserve safety, dignity, and the opportunity to thrive. We are committed to ensuring our programs are inclusive and culturally sensitive.
-Justice:
We work toward creating a world where human trafficking is eradicated, and victims can seek justice. Freedom Rising supports efforts to dismantle trafficking networks, strengthen legal protections, and advocate for the rights of victims.
These values collectively drive Freedom Rising’s mission to create sustainable, long-term solutions for those affected by human trafficking and exploitation, ensuring every individual has a chance at a life of freedom and opportunity.
Human trafficking is one of the greatest human rights crises of our time, affecting an estimated 50 million people worldwide, many of them children. Southeast Asia is particularly vulnerable, with trafficking networks exploiting poverty, lack of protection, and weak law enforcement to prey on the most vulnerable.
Trafficking is a $150 billion industry, and alarmingly, it is expected to surpass the drug trade in profitability, if it hasn’t already. Despite the scale of the problem, justice for victims remains elusive—a human trafficker is more likely to be struck by lightning than to be charged for their crimes.
This global epidemic thrives in the shadows, and without a united, concentrated effort to combat it, millions more will continue to suffer. At Freedom Rising, we are dedicated to disrupting these networks, protecting vulnerable children, and working to dismantle this billion-dollar industry one life at a time.
