Meena Project
We are a nonprofit dedicated to combatting human trafficking. We will be helping programs in Daulatdia, Bangladesh. We empower those growing up in the community brothel by helping provide education, food, mental health services, and so much more to help them escape the cycle of exploitation.

The Meena Project is a long-term rescue and rehabilitation program designed for girls who have been trafficked or are at extreme risk of exploitation due to their environment. While the House of Hope provides critical daily services to children in the brothel district, the Meena Project goes a step further, offering safe housing, full-time education, and long-term support for young girls who need immediate intervention.
Many of the girls at the Meena Project were either born into the brothel or targeted by traffickers because of their extreme vulnerability. Without intervention, they would be forced into sex work at a young age, continuing the generational cycle of exploitation. The Meena Project rescues these girls, offering them:
-
Safe & Secure Housing: The Meena Project is located outside the brothel district, providing rescued girls with a secure, loving environment away from the dangers of trafficking. Here, they can live without fear and begin to heal.
-
Comprehensive Education: These girls are enrolled in full-time school, where they receive an education that will allow them to pursue a career and independence, rather than being forced into exploitation.
-
Trauma-Informed Counseling & Emotional Support: Many of the girls rescued by the Meena Project have suffered severe psychological and physical trauma. Through professional counseling, mentorship, and emotional support, they are given the tools to heal and build a new future.
-
Life Skills & Career Training: To ensure long-term independence, the Meena Project provides life skills training in areas such as financial literacy, leadership, health, and personal development, equipping them with the skills necessary to thrive.
-
Community & Empowerment: The girls in the Meena Project form strong bonds of sisterhood, creating a support network that empowers them to dream of a future outside of the trauma they’ve endured.
The Meena Project is not just a shelter—it is a place where girls reclaim their dignity and their future.

The House of Hope
The House of Hope is a critical program serving as a safe haven for children and women trapped in one of the largest brothel districts in the world—Daulatdia, Bangladesh. In this harsh environment, children grow up surrounded by trafficking, abuse, and extreme poverty, often left with no access to education, healthcare, or a safe space. Due to the stigma associated with the brothel, these children are denied entry into traditional schools and are largely ignored by society, leaving them with no way to escape the cycle of exploitation.
The House of Hope is the only opportunity for these children to receive a daily meal, education, medical care, and emotional support in a safe and loving environment. The program offers:
-
Daily Meals & Nutrition: Many children in the brothel district suffer from malnutrition and hunger. The House of Hope ensures that they receive at least one nutritious meal a day, a necessity for their growth and well-being.
-
Education & Literacy Programs: Since most local schools refuse to admit children from the brothel, the House of Hope provides structured learning programs to give them the education they need to break free from generational exploitation.
-
Medical Care & Hygiene Support: Living in the brothel environment exposes children to disease, malnourishment, and untreated injuries. The House of Hope provides basic healthcare, hygiene education, and access to medical treatment to keep them healthy.
-
Emotional & Psychological Support: Many of these children experience severe trauma from neglect and exposure to exploitation. The program employs trained staff and social workers to provide counseling, emotional support, and mentorship, helping them heal.
-
Vocational Training for Women: The program also extends its support to mothers trapped in sex work, offering them vocational training, alternative employment opportunities, and access to healthcare, allowing them to work toward a future beyond exploitation.
Without the House of Hope, these children and women would have nowhere to turn. This program is their only chance at escaping a life of suffering, making it an essential service in the fight against human trafficking and exploitation in Bangladesh. The girls in the Meena Project are some of the few lucky ones to make it out of the community brothel. All 50 of the girls in this project are sponsored through child sponsorships thanks to Children of Promise. Let's work together to grow these programs so more girls can escape exploitation.
Why These Programs Matter

The House of Hope and the Meena Project are the only programs in Daulatdia that provide real pathways to freedom for children and young women growing up in a system designed to exploit them. Without these services:
🚨 Children in the brothel will remain uneducated, hungry, and vulnerable to trafficking.
🚨 Young girls will be sold into exploitation with no way out.
🚨 Mothers will be forced to remain in sex work with no alternative income opportunities.
These programs represent the one chance these individuals have to escape exploitation and build a life of dignity and hope. Your support can make that difference.
👉 Donate today to keep these life-changing programs running. Together, we can break the cycle of human trafficking and create a future where every child has the opportunity to be free.
